This tidbit had to do with being prepared in case of emergency for your pets.
I am not just talking about natural disasters, but those that can pop up in everyday life.
Our pets need us to be prepared no matter what comes along. Being prepared in case something arises will keep you and your pet calmer. Some of the things that you want to think about are
1. An emergency pet kit , prepare an emergency kit, which should contain dishes, food, your water, leashes or carriers, 1st aid kit for pets, vaccinations records, photos of your pets, poop bags, litter and box , blanket/towels.
2. Make sure your pets have some sort of identification, including pets name, owners name and contact numbers, names of other cats, dogs etc., that they will know.
3 Prepare an emergency arrangments with a friend or neighbor to take care of your animals if you can not make it home. Prepare for your pets well being in even a minor emergency . If you area is expecting trouble please make sure your pets are ready to take with you if you have to leave, if they are large animals move them before trouble hits your area, Have a list of pet friendly hotel in advance. Some shelters may not take pets. Don’t leave your pets behind unless by staying you will be risking your own life. If you are like me I would rather shelter with my pets then have them away from me.
4. If I am traveling and have a pet sitter, both my small animal and large animal vets, are notified, they know what treatment I approve. They have contact info for me at all times. If my pet will require extensive treatment I prefer to make that call myself. I would never let an animal suffer but I do request if they need to be put to sleep that I be the one to have to make that decision.
Our pets are not spoiled they are well loved.
